- Can I use this product in bathrooms and showers?
Yes. DECO GLAZE™ Colour Coating is guaranteed to adhere to glass and is unaffected by steam and most caustic agents. All glass in this situation is toughened for safety to meet British standards.
- How long do I have to wait?
Our lead-time is 3 weeks from site survey for 6mm glass and 4 weeks for 19mm glass, based on current average work loads. Site survey is normally done within one week of order.
- How large can a sheet of glass be?
- Our maximum sheet size for 6mm is 4m x 2.5m
- Our maximum sheet size for 19mm is 3.5m x 1.0m
- What condition does the wall need to be in?
The glass can be installed over almost any surface for example: tiles, plaster board, paint work, MDF and well adhered wallpaper. The wall needs to be reasonably level and free from any protrusions.
- How is the glass installed?
The glass is installed using a neutral cure silicone. The perimeter is sealed with sealant. We will always attempt to produce the glass in as large a piece as possible to minimize the number of joins.
- What colours are available?
DECO GLAZE™ has 40 standard colours and 7 metallic colours (take a look at our colour palette). We can also offer colour matching - any colour is available.
- What is Opticlear glass?
Opticlear glass is 'low iron' and the most optically clear glass available. This means that any colour can be achieved. Regular 'clear' glass has a higher content of iron, which gives the glass a green tint, therefore only certain colours can be achieved using cheaper clear glass.
- How do you clean colour-coated glass?
You can clean the glass with any form of glass cleaner.
- What guarantee do you give on the Colour Coated glass?
We give a written 10-year guarantee on paint discolouration and delamination when DECO GLAZE professionals install the glass, and a 90 day guarantee on installation.
- What are the features of the worktops?
Worktops can be done in almost any shape and can include a hob and sink cut-out. 19mm glass does have a slight green tint due to the thickness of the glass and this will affect most colours in our range. All of our worktops are toughened and have a special rounded edge polish.
- What is so special about the product?
Our glass is optically clear which means that when we coat the back of the glass you will see true colour definition. We toughen our glass where needed for maximum durability and safety. The coating we use on the back is so durable that you could leave the product in the worst conditions outside and it would not suffer any damage.
